The Second International Conference on Advances in Computing Research (ACR’24) was held from June 3 to 5, 2024, at IE University in Madrid, Spain. This prestigious event, organized by the Institute for Innovations in Computer Science and Engineering Research (IICSER), aimed to create collaboration and exchange among researchers from academia, industry, and government sectors and promote contributions to computing research.
ACR’24 was sponsored by several prominent organizations, including the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and the University of Detroit Mercy.
The conference received many submissions, with 178 papers submitted for consideration. After a rigorous review process, the Program Committee selected 43 papers for presentation and five posters, including contributions from undergraduate students to encourage early-stage research. These included two IE students from the Bachelor in Computer Science and AI and one of the students from the Bachelor in Data and Business Analytics (well done Vera, Diego and Louis!) We were incredibly proud of their presentations and for getting published in an international conference. The selected papers were presented in virtual and in-person formats, with 24 papers presented online and 19 on-site at IE University.
The conference featured several distinguished keynote speakers who addressed various topics in computing research. These included Professor María Isabel González Vasco from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, and Dr. Luis Hernández Encinas from the Spanish Nacional Research Council (CSIC).

The sessions were organized into various tracks, covering computational intelligence, cybersecurity engineering, data analytics engineering, mobile and cloud computing, networking and communication, and robotics and automation.
Notable academics and professionals, including Dr. Abeer Alsadoon from Charles Sturt University and Dr. Kevin Daimi from the University of Detroit Mercy, chaired the sessions and served as Program Chairs.
