The Third International Conference on Innovations in Computing Research (ICR’24), held from August 12-14, 2024, in Athens, Greece, was a remarkable event that brought together a diverse group of researchers from academia, industry, and government sectors. Organized by the Institute for Innovations in Computer Science and Engineering Research (IICSER), the conference aimed to encourage collaboration and exchange of innovative ideas in the field of computing research.

ICR’24 was structured around six main tracks, each focusing on a critical area of computing research:

  • Computer and Network Security
  • Computer Science and Engineering Education
  • Data Science
  • Health Informatics and Biomedical Imaging
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Smart Cities and Smart Energy

The conference featured a variety of sessions, including research paper presentations, keynote speeches, panels, special sessions, workshops, and tutorials. This diverse format allowed participants to engage deeply with the content and network with peers from around the world.

Research Presentations

The conference showcased a wide range of research presentations across its six tracks. Notable presentations included:

* Data Science: A session chaired by myself, featured innovative approaches such as a hybrid model for preventing fake news and machine learning frameworks for predicting university student enrollment.

* Computer and Network Security: Presentations included the development of robust intrusion detection systems using generative adversarial networks and the application of blockchain for enhancing cybersecurity.

Keynote Speeches

ICR’24 featured several keynote speeches from distinguished speakers, including Professor Birgitta Dresp-Langley, who discussed self-organization as a key principle to adaptive intelligence, and Professor Luís Pinto-Coelho, who explored how artificial intelligence is shaping medical imaging technology.

Publication and Indexing

All accepted papers were published in the conference proceedings, which are part of the Springer Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series. The proceedings are indexed in several prestigious databases, including SCOPUS, DBLP, and INSPEC, providing significant visibility to the research presented.

ICR’24 successfully fulfilled its goal of serving as a platform for international research collaboration and innovation in computing research. The conference’s comprehensive program and its wonderful location in Athens made it a valuable experience for all attendees.
